Introduction
For many thousands of children living in South Africa there is no one to wipe away the tears when they are neglected, abused or raped, or when they witness untold atrocities. This is the reality they have to live with, in the homes and communities where they should be loved and nurtured. These children need access to mental health services and support to help them heal their broken hearts.

Vision
JellyBeanz Inc envisages a society where all children in Southern Africa grow up to love, play, learn and be emotionally healthy and productive within their families and communities.

Mission
JellyBeanz Inc is a Non- Profit Trust providing support and education to children and their families who have experienced trauma. We are committed to developing resources and providing training and mentorship to empower these families, and knowledge and skills to professionals working with traumatised children. We promote and advocate for access to effective mental health services for children and their families.

Jelly Beanz Inc is a project initiated by the Child Trauma Centre in Cape Town and the Kinder Trauma Kliniek in Pretoria. Edith Kriel and Marita Rademeyer, a psychologist and social worker, frustrated by the fact that they can only provide services to children who can afford private practice rates decided to found a Non-profit organisation that will allow them to not only fight for the right of all children and their families to have access to Mental Health Services but also to allow the NGO to support, train and mentor communities and professionals working with traumatised children.

One of the projects of Jelly Beanz Inc. is to provide training and supervision for professionals working with children, who have experienced trauma. Although helping professionals spend years at university, they are often not taught the specialized skills needed to work with children and trauma issues.

Furthermore, even once they have the knowledge, some cases are very difficult and need a forum in which they can be discussed with other experts in the field. Some of the training that we provide, includes: how to work with traumatised children and families; the new Children’s Act; the new Sexual Offences Act, and bullying workshops. Training and supervision is critical in improving the service delivery to children.
